Ruben Van Genugten
Research Scientist @ Northeastern
I am a research scientist at the Institute for Experiential Artificial Intelligence at Northeastern University. Previously, I received my Ph.D. in psychology from Harvard University in 2022, where I worked with Dan Schacter.
I use machine learning and natural language processing (NLP) to study cognition, the brain, and behavior. I conduct neuroimaging experiments, develop NLP tools for the memory research community, and collaborate with clinical colleagues to study psychopathology using computational methods.
Outside of my research, I also enjoy teaching. I have helped design and teach several undergraduate and graduate-level courses in introductory statistics, cognitive neuroscience, and machine learning. I’m honored to have received several awards from the Harvard Bok Center for this teaching. Check out some of my work through the projects link below!
